FIVE WEXFORD teams started out the day still in the Leinster Junior Cup, but by the end only one remained.
Shelbourne travelled to Knocktopher in Kilkenny and, despite a good 80 minutes, the final ten proved costly and they bowed out on a 5-0 scoreline.
Kelly Ann Murphy scored for Castledockrell as they took on a very impressive St. Joseph's Girls from Dublin but lost 5-1.
Shelbourne from Dublin travelled to Bunclody and, after a very closely-contested first-half where the visitors led 3-2, they knocked in three more in the second period to progress on a 6-2 scoreline. Nicola Davitt and Jessica Martin scored for the home side.
In an all-Wexford quarter-final, Killenagh eventually overcame Coolgreany Celtic 3-2 in a thrilling encounter. Martina Walsh and Sarah Merrigan scored for Celtic, but two goals from Theresa Redmond and one from Marian Kavanagh saw Killenagh through to meet St. Joseph's Girls.
