BALLINDAGGIN EVENTUALLY came away with the three points after edging out Gorey Celtic in a five-goal thriller.
Alan O'Neill, Niall Beggan and Damien Nolan got the goals for the winners, with Brian Maher and John Lavery replying for Celtic.
Campile United were the big winners of the day, knocking eight past Adamstown without reply. Eric Banville and Joe Foley netted doubles, with Francis Parle, Tomás Kent, Owen Rowe and Aaron Hart adding a goal apiece.
Stephen Redmond was the match-winner for Wexford Celtic, netting a double as they beat Coolgreany 2-0, and Thomas Sullivan did likewise for Enniscorthy United as they edged out St. Joseph's 2-1.
Rathnure won 2-1 away to Moyne Rangers with 15-yearold Graham Nolan giving them the advantage in the third minute of his league debut, and Paul Murphy netting the winner with ten minutes remaining.
In between Kieran O'Connor had equalised for Moyne and Rathnure goalkeeper Tommy Nolan saved a penalty.
St. Michael's were another side to make a winning start, earning a 2-1 victory in Curracloe with goals from Barry Hennessy and Aidan Roche.
