Horan on international duty
A LARGE Gorey contigent travelled to Athlone on Friday night last to support Ireland as Gorey's latest international representative, Foster Horan, lined out in the much-coveted number 13 jersey at Under-20 level.
Foster had come through the Gorey minis before going on to school in Killkenny College.
He has played under-age for Leinster and is currently with the Lansdowne R.F.C. first team with fellow Gorey man William Earle.
He is also a member of the Leinster academy. He is a brother of Gorey's head coach, Phil Horan, and first team player, Ben Horan.
All at Gorey wish him well for the future.
Further news saw Gorey's Eoin Sherriff recently signing for English Premier side Saracens and, according to all accounts, he is adapting well to life in the English capital.
Gorey's Robin Copeland is currently blazing a trail at Rotherham R.F.C. with some outstanding performances. Robin is a son of last year's club President and brother of first team player Adrian Copeland.
Following on from last year's Under-17 reaching the All-ireland final and the current Under-19s reaching the Leinster league final, the future for rugby in Gorey looks very promising.
