County's motions to be debated at national A.G.M.
Wednesday February 24 2010
THIS COMING weekend, the national Community Games annual general meeting will take place in the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone. Wexford's delegates will be Anne Cowman, Dolores Moran and Kathleen Howlett.
The county have a couple of motions down for discussion, one from the Clonroche-Poulpeasty Area to delete rule eight of the choir competition and to amend rule five of same.
Bree-Davidstown Area are asking for an Under-16 skittles competition to be brought into the Games.
The Taghmon Area have a recommendation in about the long puck competition, and Clonroche-Poulpeasty have a recommendation in about the variety competition and the projects. We hope they are all successfully carried.
UNDER-13 HANDBALL
We had only two teams in action in the Community Games boys' Under-13 handball final, and it was a straight decider between Horeswood and Kilmore.
Colm Kehoe for Horeswood and Kevin Shannon for Kilmore set the ball rolling in the first game, with Colm winning out on a 15-4, 15-5 scoreline.
Danny McWilliams and P.J. Chapman (Horeswood) took on David Crosbie and Colin Reid for Kilmore and, yet again, the experience of the Horeswood pairing saw them come through on a 15-1, 15-0, 15-2 scoreline.
Horeswood went on to take the final game, with Edward Cummins defeating Shane Lynch 15-0, 15-0 to claim the county title and a chance to represent Wexford in the Leinster rounds of the competition.
