Racing hit again
Wednesday February 17 2010
RACING WAS hit again with the cancellation of last Thursday night's card due to frost.
With the weather to remain cold in the coming days, racing must be doubtful again this week, so the advice is to check before travelling this Thursday.
However, on a somewhat brighter note, Monday week's card did go ahead with an all-graded card.
Race one (A6): 1, Tomnaboley Champ (T4), Noel Walker, Enniscorthy).
'Champ' led all the way to score by a clear five lengths.
Race two (A6): 1, Myshall Rocket (T1), Rita and Edel Harrington, Co. Carlow.
'Myshall' was lying second most of the way before going on at the last bend to score going away.
Race three (A5-6): 1, Rathvilly Ted (T2), Paudie Doyle, Co. Carlow).
'Ted' led at the first bend and ran right away from his field to score easily.
Race four (A5): 1, Glenbrien Gowild (T1), Kathleen Stamp, Glenbrien.
'Glenbrien' led but was strongly challanged by 'Morepowertoya' down the back before asserting again up the straight.
Race five (A5): 1, Solent Rocket (T5), Norman and Susan James, Enniscorthy.
'Solent' was third going down the back and went second at the third bend before going on to score easily in the end.
Race six (A5): 1, Ladies Only (T3), The Four Droopys Syndicate.
'Ladies' led but had to hold off several challengers at the second bend before going on to score well.
Race seven: 1, Ima Cooper Lee, Eleanor Turner, Co. Waterford, 29.52.
Led all the way to score a snug win.
Race eight (A4): 1, Lomu Son (T3), The Oak Bar Syndicate.
Always led and ran very wide off the last bend but had plenty in hand.
Race nine (A4): 1, Elete Susie, Myles and Patrick Roban, Enniscorthy.
Race ten (575 yards): 1, Bigwood Aisling (T4), The Delahunty Syndicate, trained by Michael Delahunty.
Led and ran out a convincing winner.
