NEW ROSS SENIORS

There is a great deal of dissatisfaction among our members that we have no weekly outing this Thursday, August 26. Due to circumstances beyond our control, our normal weekly time on a Thursday and in situ since 1996 has been taken over by outside sources for the running of a charity day.

Why this event could not be run by the organisers on a Wednesday or a Friday is the question being asked by the 50-plus Seniors who eagerly look forward to their team event at the normal time each week?

The second-last Autumn Seniors Alliance of the season takes place in New Ross on Thursday, September 2, with the first tee reserved from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is expected that there will be a large number of competitors from the affiliated clubs of Carrickon-Suir, Clonmel, Dungarvan, Callan, New Ross, Gold Coast and Waterford. These are the tee-times allocated to our group:

9 a.m., T. Harford, O. Brennan, J. Kennedy, R. Goodwin. 9.08 a.m., H. O'Connor, D. Quigley, P. Traynor, M. Brennan. 9.16 a.m., R. Cuddihy, M. Long, T. Kent, J. Fitzpatrick. 9.23 a.m., N. Anderson, P. Hayles, S. Ryan, F. Boyle. 9.30 a.m., W. Byrne, M. Martin, J. Ryan, R. Cahill. 9.38 a.m., J. Watson, G. Peters, J.J. Murray, L. Power. 9.46 a.m., T. Grennan, R. O'Dwyer, R. Opperman, P. Laffan. 9.54 a.m., D. Kirwan, J. Meggs, B. Dolan, John Murphy.
