Once again the sunny south-east lived up to its name and the sun shone splendidly on Sunday for the scramble competition. Teams of three took to the course from morning until early afternoon, and some sparkling golf was played in glorious conditions.
Siblings David and Brian Kennedy with guest Jim Woods carried the day, returning a fine score of 67 for a nett 62.5. Gavin Doyle, Seán Doyle and Noel McDonald took second spot with 69 (nett 63.8). The team of Andy Carroll, Jon Williams and Tom Driver were just outside the prizes in third place with 69 (nett 64.1).
The commitee were delighted to see such a good turn-out and, with the course, and particularly the greens, in superb condition, an enjoyable day was had by all.
