Gaelic Football

ST. MARY'S (M'TOWN)

Wednesday March 10 2010

Our Intermediate team travelled to play St. James' in Ramsgrange on Saturday last and were beaten by 1-13 to 1-9. We started the game very badly and were 1-4 to 0-1 behind after only 15 minutes.

After this we started to get into the game more and a Paul Dempsey goal brought us to within a point. The game was close for long periods after that but St. James' superior fitness levels at this stage of the season was the main difference.

This Saturday the Intermediates are away to Kilmore with a 3 p.m. throw-in, while the Junior team are at home to Ballyhogue on Sunday with a 4.30 p.m. throw-in. Training for the Intermediates, Juniors and Minors takes place in Páirc Charman every Thursday at 7.30 p.m.

Our Under-16 team travelled to Kilrush on Sunday morning and came away with a three-point victory, the final score being 3-6 to 2-6. This was a great victory for the lads and hopefully they can keep this form up for the rest of the campaign. Training for the Under-16s is in Páirc Charman every Thursday at 5.30 p.m.

Membership is now due - please contact Paul Flood for direct debit forms.
