Major project for county
Wednesday February 17 2010
THE HISTORY of the G.A.A. in Wexford is the focus of a major project about to be carried out. The G.A.A. Oral History Project is one of the biggest of its kind ever undertaken in the world and will leave a remarkable legacy for future generations.
Commissioned by the G.A.A. and being carried out by a team based at Boston College-Ireland, the project is collecting a unique body of material that will ultimately be stored at the G.A.A. Museum in Croke Park.
Now, the plan is to record the history of the G.A.A. in Wexford. A researcher from the project, Regina Fitzpatrick, is coming to the county this summer, and she is looking for people to record interviews with, including G.A.A. members and supporters and anyone who has ever had any contact or involvement with the G.A.A.
