The Intermediate footballers got their ACFL Premier B campaign off to a winning start on Saturday afternoon, dismissing the challenge of St. Mary's (Maudlintown) by 1-13 to 1-9 at Mersheen. Kevin O'Grady and Matthew O'Hanlon notched up the majority of the scores, with O'Grady grabbing the goal in the first-half.

The Junior footballers followed the lead of the Intermediates and made short work of Ballyhogue B in registering a 1-11 to 0-8 win. Dermot Keating came off the bench to seal the win with a goal. while the forwards put on a fine display in taking scores from open play.

The Juvenile footballers had little to trouble them in their first game of the new season. Their visit to Kilmore saw them run out winners by 3-10 to 0-2.

Tickets for the 2010 Model County Development Draw will be going on sale in the next few weeks. Could anyone interested in either purchasing a ticket or helping out with sales please make themselves known to the committee. We encourage everyone to get behind the draw as the club is only as strong as we make it ourselves.

The following are the fixtures that are due to take place this coming weekend (March 13/14): The Intermediate footballers will line out against St. Patrick's at 3 p.m. in Mersheen, while the Junior D side take to the same field at 4.30 p.m. against Kilrush B. Meanwhile, the Junior footballers will tackle Kilrush B at home at 3.30 p.m.

The Minor footballers travel to play St. Mary's (Rosslare) on Sunday at 11 a.m. The game takes place at their Tagoat pitch.

Training for the men's footballers take will take place from 8-9.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays from here on in, and the Junior hurlers will be training from 7-8 p.m. on the same evenings.

Racquetball leagues are drawing to a conclusion with the final pairings now decided. The finals take place during this week after five rounds of league games.

The final pairings are as follows: women's Division 1, Ann Power O'Grady v. Dympna Downes; Division 2, Margaret Murphy v. Carol Murphy; Division 3, Elaine Keating v. Sharon O'Grady.

The men's finals are: Division 1, Jim Byrne v. Aidan Barry; Division 2, Tony Sinnott v. Jim Doyle; Division 3, Jeff Barry v. Anthony Sutton; Division 4, Seamus O'Grady v. David Cheevers; Division 5, Eric Molloy v. David Cooney; Division 6, Patrick Murphy v. Jason O'Grady.
