Boys in round two

OVER ONE thousand boys and girls have taken part in the opening rounds of the Allianz Rackard League mini-sevens football over the past week, and a similar number will be participating in the hurling this week.
We have one of the highest participation rates in the country in the competition and we are extremely grateful to all the teachers, parents and pupils who make these competitions such a success every year.
The 16 group winners in the boys have now progressed to the second stage which will take place on Monday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at the following venues -
Group A (in Taghmon): Taghmon, Poulfur, Rathgarogue, St. Leonards.
Group B (in Ballygarrett): Riverchapel, Gorey C.B.S. (holders), Boolavogue, Coolgreany.
Group C (in Hollymount): Curracloe, Caim, Piercestown, Gaelscoil Inis Corthaidh.
Group D (in Páirc Charman): Kennedy Park, Murrintown, Blackwater, Rathangan.
The second round of the Allianz girls' football will take place on Tuesday, March 16, at 1 p.m. at the following venues -
Group A (in Monageer): Monageer, Kilmyshall, Kilmuckridge, Craanford. Group B (in Killurin): Glynn, Bree, Group 9 winners, Blackwater. Group C (in Horeswood): Rathnure, Ballymitty, Poulfur. Group D (in Rathangan): Rathangan, Kilmore, The Faythe, Piercestown.
Last year's winners Clongeen were beaten in the group stages this year.
