Dympna denies Wexford
THE WEXFORD ladies travelled to Freshford on Saturday last optimistic that they could qualify for the All-Ireland in September but had to give way to an impressive Limerick side on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-8. Limerick were defeated in last year's final and were determined to reach the decider again, and right from the off they set about reaching their goal.
Glynn-Barntown build on fine start
GLYNN-BARNTOWN were well deserving of their five-point winning margin over the St. James' and Horeswood combination known as Dunbrody Gaels at Mersheen on Monday of last week in the semi-final of the Captain Michael Baker Under-21 football Premier championship.
Three teams to make drop
FOUR SENIOR football clubs will be battling for their lives in Wexford Park on Saturday next when the WFC championship relegation semi-finals take place.
Shels down holders
IT WAS all so easy for Shelmaliers as they demolished the holders, St. Martin's, with ease in this one-sided Captain Michael Baker Under-21 football Premier championship semi-final at Hollymount on Wednesday last.
GRASSROOTS
MONAGEER-BOOLAVOGUE: Our Intermediate hurlers overcame the challange of last year's Junior championship winners, Craanford, in the championship on Saturday last. Early scores were hard to come by, but a goal settled us down. Still, we only had one goal and three points after 20 minutes.
