Tribunal rules against closed nursing home
THE LONG closed Carraig Túr nursing home at the former House of Missions in Enniscorthy was at the heart of an employment appeals tribunal hearing dealt with under redundancy legislation.
Former staff member Samuel Adewunmi of 9 Gort Na Gréine, Cherryorchard took his case to the tribunal.
The 45 year old took his case against Carraig Túr Nursing Home Limited, address given as 59 Rathgar Road in Dublin. The company was not represented at the hearing, which learned that Samuel Adewunmi was on the payroll from early in 2005 until May 2010, earning gross weekly pay of €628.
In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, the tribunal ruled that he was entitled to a lump sum payment.
