MEMBERS OF the Polish community in New Ross filled the Pastoral Centre on Sunday evening to celebrate their traditional Christmas Eve.

Tables were laden down with traditional Polish dishes and wine to mark the special occasion in the life of the Polish community.

In a Polish traditional Parish Priest Fr. Joe McGrath blessed the holy bread, which was then passed amongst all present, broken up and eaten.

Young children sang Christmas carols in both Polish and English, while one boy sang 'Silent Night' in Irish.

A member of the Polish Consulate was in attendance for the occasion along with Sean Connick TD and Cllr. John Dwyer.

Organised by the Polish Association, Eagles, this annual event is now in its third year.
