Questions about Bosheen scheme
OFFICIAL confirmation is being sought as to whether a remedial scheme promised for the Bosheen Estate 15 years ago will ever be carried out.
A letter has been sent to the Environment Minister Phil Hogan calling for a review of this remedial scheme, which if completed would have seen the replacement of fascia and soffits, roofing and central heating systems in the estate's 52 houses.
In his letter to the Minister, Cllr Michael Sheehan outlined that in the early 1990s an application was made to the department for a remedial scheme to upgrade the houses in the estate.
According to Cllr Sheehan, a full remedial scheme was subsequently announced by the Minister Brendan Howlin just before the general election in 1997.
'Residents are anxious that their plans and estate wouldn't be forgotten about. They now want to know what's going on with the remainder of the estate now the Bosheen Bungalows are complete,' said Cllr Sheehan.
