Kyle's quad career kicks into gear

Tuesday January 31 2012

A QUADDING enthusiast has taken home a coveted second place prize in the Irish Quadcross Championship 2011.

Competing over six rounds and beating off competition from up to thirty other competitors in each race, Kyle Murphy from Knockroe, New Ross, was presented with his title at a prize giving ceremony in Dublin's Citywest Hotel recently.

Kyle, who is aged 15, has been showing great promise since he started quad racing just three years ago.

The third year student in Good Counsel Collage came tenth in the championships in his first year racing and was awarded fourth place last year.

The Quad Racing Championship takes place over six rounds and is competed on different motocross tracks throughout Ireland.

The Championship is divided into three classes; Blaster Class for teenagers aged between 12 and 16 years, Support Class for adults and Premier Class for adults.

This year's championship starts in Clonroche Motocross Track on Sunday, February 26.
