Is the Government right to raise the retirement age to 68?
Wednesday March 10 2010
Dylan Redmond, Enniscorthy. 'I would agree. The age should be set but there should be a choice so that people can work as long as they want.' Lillian Doyle, Marshalstown. 'I think people are quite capable of working until they are 68. I don't think anybody should be forced out of their job because of their age' Patricia Redmond, Enniscorthy. 'I'd agree with that. We are living longer.' Betty Richardson, Bewley Court, New Ross. 'It is scandalous. We will be paying taxes long enough at that stage.' Ray Breen, The Rower. 'It is disgraceful. We are working long enough as it is and many people will have been working from an early age.' Eileen Kavanagh, Clonattin, Gorey. 'For some people, yes, and some people, no, depending of your health. Some people don't want to retire at 65.'
