TRANSITION YEAR students in Good Counsel College were put through their paces on Friday when they took part in interviews using the latest in online video technology.

Newly established Enniscorthy based company, Sonru developed a new product allowing students to prepare for interviews using online video technology.

Students in Transition Year completed pre-set interview questions online using a webcam, their interviews were recorded and both students and their Careers Guidance teachers could then review the results.

This should prove to be hugely helpful for students to have the facility to review the video of the answers that they gave during their interview.

'Seeing how I came across on video made me aware of areas I needed to work on, I found it very interesting and helpful,' said TY student Peter Maher

'Using Sonru was a positive experience for TY, it was a means of introducing the form of interviewing without the expense and stress of organising an interview panel. It was flexible which meant students were able to conduct their interviews at home or in school,' said Margaret Cushen, TY Coordinator.

'We are delighted to introduce our technology to schools to help prepare students for interviews.

'It's great to hear that both students and teachers are really enjoying using our system and are seeing genuine benefits,' said Edward Hendrick, Sonru Founder and CEO.
