A YOUNG Enniscorthy man, charged in relation to theft and burglary offences, has been ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.
Before Wexford District Court was Rafael Paul from 128 Shingaun, Enniscorthy, charged with burglary at Neville's Pub in Fethard-onsea on September 28, 2011 when he stole €150 cash from a jar, theft from Irish Street Bunclody on September 13, 2011, to burglary (intent) at South West Wexford CDP on September 28, 2011 and to burglary at Ferns Engineering, Killeens on May 29, 2011.
The court heard from his defence solicitor Eric Furlong that the case was previously adjourned for a Probation Officer's report to see if the 20-year-old defendant is suitable for community service.
The defendant had €180 in court, which Inspector Mick Walsh explained was the remittance from the jar in the Fethard pub.
Mr. Furlong said that his client is currently carrying out 100 hours of community service, of which he had 24 hours left to complete.
Judge Gerard Haughton ordered that the defendant carries out 120 hours of community service in lieu of three months detention in relation to the burglary offence at Fethard-onSea. All other matters were taken into consideration.
