Reigning champions celebrate triumphs

REIGNING COUNTY football champions Horeswood GAA Club celebrated their triumphs throughout the past year when they gathered in great numbers for their celebratory dinner dance in the Brandon House Hotel on Friday night.
During the night medals were presented by Jason Ryan to the 2009 Senior Football Champions, the 2009 Junior Football League winners, the 2009 Minor Hurling Championship winners and the 2008 Minor Footballers.
The Senior Football captain, Tommy Howlin, made a presentation on behalf of the players to the senior football management team of Michael Duffin, George Hearn, Larry O'Brien and Leigh O'Brien, while Chairman John Kenny made a presentation to Patrick Shannon who competed in the Skeleton race in the Winter Olympics.
A presentation was made by Vice-Chairman Larry O'Brien to Paddy Breen, a member of the 1968 Minor Wexford Hurling Team, with the Current Senior Football manager, Michael Duffin, making a presentation to former football manager Michael Walsh.
A funding boost of ¤3,000 was made by Ger Cashman on behalf of AIB for competing in the AIB sponsored Leinster Club Football Championship which provided for team equipment.
