The players of Rathnure St. Annes GAA are running a fundraiser in Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on Thursday 1st December. Why not come along and enjoy a fun night out at the dogs, tickets cost only €10 which will permit entry to the track and into a draw for a cash price of €1,000 on the night. Camán Abú is the name of the Social and Recreational Hurling game which was launched at this year's GAA Congress in Mullingar. It was devised by the National Research Committee on foot of extensive trials which took place in Portumna and Waterford I.T. Sports Campus. There has been a very positive response from participants who have derived a great sense of achievement, fun and enjoyment from their involvement.
Camán Abú is effectively a non-contact ground hurling game which is played with a modified hurling sliotar. Teams can be made up of male and female players on the basis that each team has an equal number of female players on the field at the same time. Helmets aren't required. We are starting a Camán Abú League in Rathnure. Please text Dave Guiney: 087 2362 685 if you are interested in playing. If we can get enough numbers we can look into setting up an over-40s league and an under-40s league.
GAA LOTTO
The numbers drawn last Tuesday 8th were: 1, 18, 23, 24. There was no jackpot winner. Nancy Byrne, Ballindoney, Kathleen Dwyer, Rathnure and Tony Connolly, c/o: P. O'connor were the three match three winners. The jackpot this Tuesday night is €7,200.
