GAELIC FOOTBALL

There was mixed luck for the local adult gaelic football teams over the past while.

The third football team had an impressive 3-9 to 1-4 victory over Horeswood at Gusserane on Friday night week in the New Ross district semi - final and they played St. James in the district final on Monday night of this week.

The highlight of last week was the victory by our senior footballers over the county champions Horeswood in the WFC. Senior Football Championship Quarter Final at Wexford Park which they won on a final score of 1-10 to 0-8.

They will play Castletown in the county semi - final next week-end and hopefully the good form of late will continue. St. Annes will play Kilanerin in the other semi-final.

On Sunday evening week the second football team lined out in Taghmon against Geraldine O' Hanrahans first team in the junior championship quarter final and having given a very good display and having led for much of the game they were unfortunately eventually beaten in the end on a score of 0-14 to 0-11.
