Tomorrow Wednesday 1st September we will be accepting Registration Fees for all Schoolboys and Adults from 6p.m. until 9p.m. in Clubhouse Mersheen. Players can also order Club shorts and socks.

Please note players who have not registered and paid membership in full will not be covered by club insurance and ineligible to play competitive games. U 8 & U10 € 25 , U 12 / U14 / U16 € 30 , U18's € 40 , Students € 75 (i.e. Students over 18's in full time education) Adult € 100. Family with 2 Junior members € 5 off total price. Family with 3 or more junior members € 5 per player off total price. A payment plan if needed can be discussed. All Welcome including new members.

COACH AWARD

Duncannon FC would like to congratulate our Club Coach Marty O'Connor on receiving The Noel O'Reilly Coach Of The Year Award at the FAI Awards Ceremony held in Whites Hotel Wexford last Friday.

This Award is the highest accolade that can be given to a Soccer Coach in Ireland and is richly deserved by Marty. Hailing from Corish Park, Wexford town native Marty has been coaching soccer for over 38years and has helped mould many young soccer players in Wexford.

Duncannon FC would like to take this opportunity to thank Marty for his tireless work in helping develop our Coaches, and players alike.

Recognition of Marty's hard work was long over due but of special significance to Marty who was a good friend of the late Noel O'Reilly whom this Award was named after. " Marty will be Coaching our Under 8's this Season.

SCHOOLBOYS KICK OFF

The Schoolboys league kicks-off on Saturday, September 4th with the U8s and 12s and on Saturday, 11th September the U10s and U14s will be in action.

The U8s and U12s will again be playing on Saturday, 18th September, the U10s and U14s on Saturday, 25th September and on Saturday 2nd October it will be the turn of the U8s, U12s and U16s

U12: Training has begun for our U12 boys last week under the guidance of Manager Billy Wallace, Training will take place every Saturday from 10.30a.m. until 12. All welcome. Season kicks off Saturday September 4th.

U14: Training has begun for our U14 boys last week with Eddie Stafford as Manager. Training will take place every Wednesday 7p.m. - 8.30pm and every Saturday at 11a.m. (except game days) All welcome. Season Kicks off Saturday 11th September.

NEW LADIES SOCCER TEAM

Duncannon FC & Fethard Rangers have joined forces to form Seaview Utd Ladies & Schoolgirls Soccer Club for the forthcoming Season.

This amalgamation has been voted on by players and coaches alike and endorsed and supported by both Duncannon FC & Fethard Rangers Mens & Schoolboys Clubs over the past few months culminating in the Election of Officers at its inaugural AGM in July: Chairperson Clare McMahon, Secretary TBC, Treasurer Marie Ryan. Management teams will be announced over the coming weeks. Teams to be entered U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, Ladies.

The Club will be based in the Grounds of Duncannon FC with Fethard Rangers pitches being available for use also.

The concept of the Club is that all girls in the Hook Pensullia and further afield should they wish to join will receive the chance to play and enjoy soccer no matter what their skill level while meeting and making new friends along the way. All Coaches will receive training and guidance and all policies regarding Child Protection and fairness will be of the utmost importance.

The Club welcomes all new players, coaches , managers, and committee members. All assistance is welcomed.

ST. JAMES' GAA

The Ladies football Intermediate side strolled in the Co final last Monday evening with a 3-20 to 1-2 win against HWH-Bunclody.

The girls raced into a strong position early on and were ahead by 0-10 to 0-2 at half-time. They upped their scoring rate in the second half to leave the Gorey district side with no reply. Scorers: Kellie Mullan 1-5, Sonja Murphy 0-1, Catherine Doyle 17, Brid Kehoe 0-4, Aisling Mullan 0-1, Sarah O'Brien 0-1, Sarah Hearn 1-0, Chelsea Molloy 0-1.

They now play the Co Final next Sunday, September 5 at 12.30pm in Wexford Park. Everyone from the club is urged to get out and support the team.

The St James' U-8 and U-7 football teams travelled to play Cushinstown in the football league recently. The U-8 team suffered their first defeat of the league on a scoreline of 6-4 to 2-2 despite playing some great spells of football and conjuring up many attempts on goal. St James': Alfie Eite, Cameron Kenny, Keelan Foley, Rory Lynch, Daniel Behan, Tomas Barron, Ben McPhillips, Darragh McPhillips, Padraig Barron and Sam Wallace.

The U-7 football team came home with another win on a scoreline of 12-6 to 1-2. St James': Mark Whitty, Josh Keating, Brid Walsh, Shane Dunne, Ciaran McPhillips, Colm Fitzgerald, Joe McPhillips, Ciara Walsh, Jamie Foley, Aoife Connolly and Stephen Clarke.

RECYCLING COLLECTION

St. James GAA Club are organising a Recycling Collection (Clothes, shoes, handbags, bedding, curtains, old mobile phones) on Monday the 11th of October at their GAA Pitch in Mersheen, Ramsgrange from 9.30 - 11am.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT
