Coffee morning for Concern at Gallery
COFFEE AND conversation was flowing from The Gallery in St. Michael's Theatre throughout Friday as the theatre staff hosted a coffee morning as part of their Concern Haiti appeal day.
The Gallery was filled with people during the day for this worthy fundraiser.
Scones, buns, brown bread, currant bread and tarts were donated by Yvonne Ronan, the Bakehouse on South Street and Michael Griffin, while all the theatre staff pooled together their own cash and bought in extra supplies of tea and coffee as well as confectionary.
'It went great. We had a good influx of people in all morning and anybody that came in went out over the town and spread the word so that helped a lot,' said Siobhán Murphy from St. Michael's Theatre.
'We just decided this week that we had to do something for Haiti. It was impromptu enough but everyone was brilliant for helping out,' she added.
