A GRAND total of € 3,600 was raised in the Strand Tavern in Duncannon for the Gena Heraty Orphan Fund.
Gena Heraty, an Irish volunteer, has been working in Haiti for a number of years.
One of the most coveted items up for grabs on the night, a rugby jersey signed by the Irish rugby team, made ¤2,000 and was whipped up by local businessman John O'Mahoney.
A number of prizes were raffled away on the night, which helped to raise further funds.
Johnny Joyce won two tickets to a Munster rugby match, John O'Mahoney won two tickets to a Leinster match and two tickets to see Neil Delamere were each won by Edel Kennedy, Pat Minogue and Ellen Cruise.
A ¤100 Good Food Voucher for Aldridge Lodge was won by Niall Roche, Sunday lunch for two at Dunbrody was picked up by Timmy Roche, a Diageo hamper was won by Patrick Keating, a ¤50 voucher for Flowers Unlimited was won by Marion Dooley and two tickets to Wexford Opera House were each won by Dave Walters, Garvin Cagney and Emer Broderick.
Lyndsey Cleerey won a voucher for Boudoir Beauty, Claire Doyle won a ¤30 Voucher for Aura Beauticians, Linda Dempsey won a golf for two outing at Faithlegg, a family pass to cinema was picked up by Stephen Delaney, four passes to the Playbarn, New Ross, were won by Lauren Mangan, a DVD signed by Tommy Tiernan was won by Padraig Molloy, a Caroline's Hair Creation set was won by David Browne and Alice Downe won a bottle of wine.
The organisers would like to extend their gratitude to all the sponsors who very kindly donated towards the fund, to Freeway for providing music on the night, Dervella and Hal at the Strand Tavern, all who helped to sell tickets, and all those who attended on the night.
